Blackwing Volumes - Vol. 16.2
The limited Blackwing 16.2 pays tribute to the visionary mathematician and writer Ada Lovelace. In translating an article about Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine computer, Ada wrote what many consider to be the first complete computer program. The matte white finish and matte black ferrule draw inspiration from the styling of early personal computers. The pencil includes a matching white eraser, and the backside of each pencil is stamped in Ada's initials, AAL‚ in binary, as she used to sign her work. The 16.2 is a reference to the 16.2 KB storage capacity of Baggage's Analytical Engine. The fantastic styling and the inclusion of Blackwing's most popular firm graphite means the 16.2 is sure to sell out quickly. We hope the 16.2 inspires you to create in the same creative spirit that drove Ada Lovelace.

After the initial success of Palomino's graded graphite pencils, Cal Cedar was able to revive the legendary Blackwing pencil. The Blackwing was originally a Eberhart-Faber pencil that had been discontinued and later obtained cult status as pencil aficionados were paying exorbitant amounts at auction for dead stock. The Blackwing had gained a reputation as the pencil of choice for Grammy, Emmy, Pulitzer and Academy Award winners, and now they have become available to a whole new generation of creatives.
