Mitsubishi Pencil Company is one of the oldest stationery companies in Japan, with its original enterprise having been founded in 1887. While initially founded as a pencil company, Mitsubishi invented the Uniball pen in late-1970s and subsequently established international subsidieres with the Uniball name. The company is unrelated to the Mitsubishi Group (which includes Mitsubishi Motors), although they have at times shared a nearly identical three-diamond logo. While Mitsubishi is famous for its cutting-edge pen and mechanical pencil designs, we are especially fond of a number of their classic products that have been in production without change for decades.
