The Blackwing Point Guard is the perfect companion for your Blackwing Pencils when on the go. Place your capped Blackwings more confidently in your bag, knowing that they won't loose their precisely sharpened point or damage any of your other accompanying products.
The Blackwing 155 Point Guard Set includes one matte blue, one matte yellow, and one matte red Point Guard inspired by Bauhaus artist Wassily Kandinsky's color and shape questionnaire. Kandinsky believed that there was a universal correlation between color and shape, and his questionnaire yielded surprisingly consistent results: a blue circle, a yellow triangle and a red square.

Blackwing represents the highest quality pencils available from the California Cedar Products Company, the history of which dates back to the mid-19th century. Blackwing utilizes genuine California incense cedar which is sent to Japan where the pencils are produced using some of the best Japanese graphite in the industry.
After the initial success of Cal Cedar's Palomino graded graphite pencils, they were able to revive the legendary Blackwing pencil. The Blackwing was originally a Eberhart-Faber pencil that had been discontinued and later obtained cult status as pencil aficionados were paying exorbitant amounts at auction for dead stock. The Blackwing had gained a reputation as the pencil of choice for Grammy, Emmy, Pulitzer and Academy Award winners, and now they have become available to a whole new generation of creatives.
